Ear infectionQ: My vet perscribed dicural for my dog duke, since you don't carry that med, is there an equivilent drug that can be bought cheaper than dicural. thank you A: Dicural is in the same antibiotic catagory as baytril and orbax. you would have to check with your veterinarian to see if he feels they may be effective. we can't tell the price difference because we don't have the product.
Clear urine at first but then bloodyQ: When i walk my dog ( 7 years old ) his urine is clear. after he gets done his main needs and then trys to mark his territory at the end of his walk, his urine turns red with blood. i don't mean tinted red, i mean red red. it is only at the end of the walk. i am concerned since it is not all the time only at the end of the walk. thank you, tammy A: Still could be urinary tract infection or possible bladder stone. take to vet for exam and urine analysis and x rays if needed
Possibly too muchQ: Hi there, i have two dogs, both are about the same weight. i was giving them their monthly dosage of sentinal and i believe one dog spit hers out and the other dog ate it. he had already eaten his own. i thought i put it far enough back in the one dogs throat that she had to swallow it. but then i noticed that where i gave them the meds, the other dog sniffed around and found something and ate it. what do i do???? will the dog that possibly got 2 tabs get sick? should i wait another month to give another tab to the dog that may have spit it out? thanks much A: The sentinel tablets have a high margin of safety and if your dog did ingest two tablets there should be no problem. also if you aren't sure you should give the other dog another dose, with food.
Shop for: sentinel

Breeding?Q: My boxer is pregnant and we are not sure who the father is? she is in her 2nd heat and is a healthy young dog. while i was breeding her mother-with a stud, we discovered she was in heat or still in heat-now it appears that she's very pregnant. next question-she may have been had by her big brother, as no one saw her get breed, and she was seperated from all males except him! this is not the ideal situation-but she's very pregnant and have no knowledge of breeding between brother & sister(although this is not what we wanted-should i expect any problems or may she have a normal pregnancy. do believe her to be about 3 weeks into her pregnancy if not 4 weeks! i thank you for any answers and/or advice you may offer. the nearest local vet for us is 50 miles away 1 way, mountains of pa i thank you in advance for your time and assistance with this question and situation. respectfully donna & bill clark A: Tough situation as of course there is always risk of inbreeding genetic problems that can crop up while other times they are fine. it is like russian roulette. of course best if it did not occur
